This summer the nation will come together to celebrate Her Majesty
The Queen’s 70th year on the throne with an extended Platinum
Jubilee bank holiday weekend from 2-5 June.
Worcester City Council is inviting
residents to apply for grants to
organise community events to mark
this historic anniversary.
The City Council has set aside
£30,000 to fund decorations and
exhibitions across the city, as
well as a programme of events to
remember. They will include the
lighting of a beacon at Fort Royal
Park on 2 June, a day of ‘living
history’ at The Commandery on 3
June, and a free exhibition of royal
memorabilia, including mementos
of past royal visits to the city and
the Guildhall.
