£17.9 million to transform

parts of Worcester’s city centre

Worcester has been awarded £17.9 million by central Government to
transform the northern part of the city centre into an exciting leisure,

cultural, entertainment and residential quarter, acting as a magnet for
younger people and families in the future.

have been an important commercial
area for the city. However, there
has recently been an increase in
vacant retail units and a decrease
in footfall there.

Over the next five years the area
will be transformed to attract more
visitors and shoppers, provide
opportunities which bring people
together to have fun, and to
create more jobs in the leisure,
hospitality, retail and construction
sectors.
